Hi Mark, lovely car matey and some serious cleaning done there!
I have a query about your engine bay though? The airbox to throttle body/camcover pipework appears to be that fitted to a 2.0ltr not a 2.2 unless i'm mistaken
Cheers pal.
TBH, this being my first Meega I'm not too familiar with the set-ups (yet) but you're probably right.
I'm going to look further into this, and I appreciate you pointing it out, you've got me thinking now.
When I got the car diagnosed on Tech-2 (Autobox light/car-spanner light on) I got the MAF error code displaying. The Technician said the pipes with the jubilee clips fitted shouldn't be there and that someone along the way had modified/bodged it.
Looking at it, it seems he was correct, I thought when I got the new MAF I could do-away with the modified pipework and that the MAF would be longer, therefore not needing the added pipework but as you can see in the photos the new genuine 2.2 MAF is the same length as the old one i.e. short and still needing the extra pipework.

But I fitted the new MAF, went and got the error codes cleared/lights knocked out and it now runs perfectly.

I wonder if there were a problem with the way it was running at some point and instead of replacing the MAF, the previous owner(s) had the whole lot replaced???
