Clutch & Dual Mass Flywheel
« on: 13 November 2012, 07:35:24 »

Thinking the clutch is on its way out as when the clutch pedal is depressed have this knocking/rattling sound and occassionally hear a clunk, been like that for over two weeks now. Had a quote from Mr Clutch for £250 to replace just the clutch kit, but when I spoke to them yesterday and advised them of above said they would need to look at it :-X, and would/could be the DMF and if it was would cost over 1k to replace :-X :-X, where is the best place to source the DMF and clutch bits, and do any of you guys think this is the DMF?

What engine have you got Mike. A 3.0/3.2 V6 DMF is only £151.28 + VAT but a 2.5/2.6 is £1042.32 + VAT. Don't ask i don't know. I think this man :D has been doing the pricing again

I use buypartsby for such things as they provide the OE LUK kits at a good price.

If replacing the clutch and flywheel then you could upgrade to the 3.0/3.2

I do have one off a 2.5 in the garage.

I was looking at changing my DMF for a one piece unit. But at £181 I think I might change my mind!?!?

Where is that from?

Andy C, works for A Vx. dealership I think so the prices he is quoting should be available from your local dealers, if you ask them nicely for t.c./trade...

The cars 2.6 put it in yesterday to have the clutch done, bit concerned as dropped it off at 10 am and by 4 they stilll had not looked at it, garage mechanic did not think it was the DMF, but once they have it down they are going to let me know, also Thanks to Daz for the offer of the DMF if required :y,. The clutch kit the garage quoted me for is £225.00 not sure which clutch kit but seems a bit expensive, and £160 for labour.

Quite possibly, don't have much choice now though rather than to get it done, hopefully will have the car back for the weekend, as LK has the DMF which needs sending down from Stoke. I am at around almost £400 for parts so far!!!! depending on how much the slave cylinder is eg hopefully less than £162.00 which is the cheapest quote I could find.

Plus its a very good make (and OEM)
