It was a standard initiation requirement .. as was having your desert boots (suede) polished .... playing draughts against a local (not a chance of winning) and being set up with a "Kai Tai" as you thought that was the local name for a prostitute ... until you found out the "difference" ..... oh to be that young, naive, and happy again !! ( or was I just pissed all the time ?? )

Luckily for me .. as a very naive 19 year old (just) a senior crewmember was keeping a close watch ... and as I got up to leave with the beauty (they had set me up with the winner of the monthly pageant) having bartered a price .... he took my hand and thrust it up "her" skirt .... whereapon the "meat and 2 veg" sobered me up exceedingly quickly .... "she" went daft having lost a "sale" .... I bought a round of drinks ..... and the rest just rolled about laughing !!!
It was the joke of the squadron for a couple of weeks ... and I just had to learn to live with the "you want good time" comments ... until someone else screwed up and it became their turn ..
