Just to provoke response and generate debate ....

On your way to creating a republic would you want remove or reduce the influence and power of the church?

Would this not be one small step to initiating a slow and steady process to achieve this :-\ ???

I'm not really a conspiracy nut  ::)

Your now very close to revealing the agenda behind this imo Phil.This is not so much about equality but more about destroying the historic "Christian" tradition of the British way of life.Turning the country into yet another completely secular Eurocountry,just like they have already done to most other European countries.Destroy the past (culture,religion,tradition etc.)and get people to rely on the state for their future.A classic left wing ploy.The people who pull the strings in this country hate Britishness and all it ever stood for.Hence idiots apoligising for slavery centuries before any of us were born etc.A cursory glsnce at the history of any communist regime will reveal these type of tactics in pretty much every case.
Cameron probably doesnt care much one way or the other,but Clegg probably has him over a barrell,and is offering a deal on something which Cameron does care about.So it must be something which might advance his own career.

Only in the sense that it is quite powerful from a symbolic snd historical viewpoint.Its always best to replace the old symbols of power and influence with new ones in a brave new world. ;)

Sodomy or Buggery is an illegal act ( for exact details use Google), although rarely prosecuted for the normal hetrosexual. ::) :D

Surely to allow Happy Chappies to marry is breaking the law, unless buggery is legalised. Query that one ::) ::) ;D ;D

Was legalised a long time ago.Iirc,the last amendment allowed it between "men" of 16 years old,although one of them could be of any age older than that.As long as the youngest participant isnt younger than 16.

Bible also states=man shall not lay with man nor woman lie with woman.
Its there somewhere-cant remember where though.
But whatever floats ya boat eh  :y

Nothing wrong with this part of the equation. Provided they are tall, blonde, and under thirty. :y :-* :-*
