Memory front seat, fold flat function.
« on: 09 December 2012, 22:48:53 »

:yHi guys project I had in mind for a while as vauxhall didn't think I would need a fold down front seat in my elite, and make it full memory, took a bit of time to source bits and pieces needed to assemble it. But finally took it in hand and have it sorted. Works a treat was awkward getting tilt working as shafts have different splines for electric adjustable and manual knob adjust, and also making sure that position encoders all were orientated correctly. Had to buy new side piece for seat at tilting hinge. As had got cracked in previous car was only 2poundsnew from vauxhall. Seat switch was pig to dismantle and flip 180 and resolder all switches and wires but now have one off seat that's practical and missus always gets her seat exactly where she wants it, bonus!!! Eric

Just a bit of info after all my hard work I checked with my mate in vxgarage and you can buy the proper lhd spec seat switch and side panel to match are available for only about 35 for full switch unit and about 20 for side trim. Thought they were reasonable price. Cheers Eric

Yes had other estate and saloons with this option and although not used everyday so handy when you need it. Glad you like my efforts to rectify vauxhall omission. Next I am looking to adapt and modify a rear window blind if I can for estate tailgate, Cheers Eric

Be very interested in the rear blind... I do miss it in the winter and something I've considered as well as a remote release for the tailgate like the saloon

Yeah been looking into the electric boot realise too and have the bits from saloon but one pushes the other pulls so need to work it out sometime. Would like electric boot opening from remote key. Eric

I've got all the bits ready to do the remote tailgate release, just need to get around to doing it.  :y

I've also considered adapting a saloon rear blind for my estate... Would you have it mounted on the tailgate, or right up behind the rear headrests?  :-\

Tailgate release shouldn't be too complicated to sort. As for blind... It would have to be on the tailgate (or possibly the roof :-\) as opposed to the seats for me

wonder how much additional weight would over power the struts?

Good point... They aren't exactly light units are they ::)

Have to work a way to mount it at the roofline then
