Locked Out!
« on: 13 December 2012, 18:25:58 »

My 2.5 cd locked me out while I went behind a bush with the keys still in ignition. I had to get my son to leave work, get my spare keys and bring them to me. Happened again when I fuelled up but this time I was prepared!. Any ideas why?

Not good at all, especially in a collision!  Hope you have A spare key hidden now, and intend finding the fault.

Not good but quite funny. :)

The neighbours Peugeot locks ALL the doors whenever the drivers door is opened or closed, twice we had to 'break into it' the other day whilst I was changing the glow plugs, I guess the wires are worn where they pass through into the door from the car body...

Well, these might help for a start. ;)

I reckon it might be worth checking the switches behind the lock barrel on the driver's door. If they are making contact when shocked by the door closing that might explain the problem. It could also be the microswitches in the central locking motor. Might also be worth a look at the condition of the wiring between door and door post, and also checking the connector as the wiring passes into the door post for security. Could just be a poor connection here.
