headlight washers
« on: 14 December 2012, 09:12:23 »

hi, i have a 3.2 mv6 and cant seem to get head light washers working. basicly i have no power to pump, and yes put main lights on lol.
according to fuse box dia it couples up with rear number plate light etc and every thing else is working on the electrics. so is there a relay tucked away some where? i.e. when head lights on energieses relay to power washers from stalk! unless being a face lift? seperate fuse? possibly missing???

thought i would ask before wiring a switch in line as anoying me now lol

tnx mark

My mini facelift has a green (?) relay towards the front of the fuse/relay box under the bonnet for the headlight washers - there should be a fuse right at the side of it.  ;)

round 1

1, attach two wires to battery, dab ends on pump terminals and nothing!

2, remove pump, siezed solid. pliers on end of shaft to free it up abit of lub.

3, test pump again, yep motor works.

4, refit pump and test, spin but no water. push and twist pump to locate shaft. dab wires again yep soaked!!!!.

5, reconect wiring plug and test from stalk, it works! :)

so thanks guys for tips as made life alot easier.
