Christmas Rituals
« on: 18 December 2012, 21:34:00 »

Over the holiday period, we have to sit and watch the 4 Die Hard films.

What do you all get up to with any time you may be lucky enough to have off?

easy one,the one time of year when one can truly relax,ie no customers hassling you, nothing to go wrong leaving me free to pursue my lifelong mission to rid the world of cheese and onion crisps and lager. :y

Apart from Christmas Day, I'm hoping all past Rituals will be non-essential and I can get my feet up, watch some TV (of which I will complain about ("Chrimbo TV used to be good when we only had 4 Channels"))

Essentially, anything Bah-Humbug........ I'm down with that!

Normally have to wake the house up because of the amount of booze that gets drunk on christmas eve about 9 o'clock in the morning.
Get the kettle on.
Walk the daft mutt.
Put 7 year old head on and start opening pressies before the other lazy gits get downstairs.
Get a bollocking for above. ::) ;D
Play with pressies while the missus gets mashed on sherry in the kitchen while cooking christmas dinner  :y
Eat and drink too much and fall asleep on the sofa while the lad washes the potts.
Wake up for a while then fall asleap on the sofa again after more booze  ::)
Wake up and start to get tea ready for whatever visitors we have coming round.
Turf them out before midnight then off to bed.

Wake up with a blinding hangover.
2 ibrufin, large mug of very strong coffee and a nice greasy bacon and sausage butty then sit down until I can face the day  ;D

christmas day
wake up to the smell of a turkey cooking
all phones off house phone unplugged,no computers or game consuls allowed to be switched on
get up and but a christmas hits cd on
bit of breakfast ,kids eat all the chocs in there stocking
we then go into the front room to see if santas been
cook christmas dinner and play with presents
eat big dinner then we all wash up
sit down in front of telly and watch the queen and a film
take dog out for a walk
come back have christmas cake and a drink
watch some more telly, eat some nuts, open the christmas biscuits
then at 10 oclock we stop and have a couple of minutes silence and think of people who are not as lucky as us and rember people who are no longer with us.

Wake up.
Santa sacks on bed, shout "he's been, he's been" very loudly.
Take sack down stairs, bucks fizz and toast. Tea coffee. Etc
Play with Santa prezzies while everyone gets ready for
Xmas dinner.  Smoke salmon starter
Turkeyhamstufgingbreadsaucesausagesroastbedeeders and maybe some veg. Must be with cracker hats on!
Xmas pud
Then....

...the under tree presents. :y

Tipples, queens speech.
Turkey sandwiches.
Games, trivial persute, then an oddball new game of anybody's choosing. Only winner is the one that cheats the most. ;D
Then either, bed, or drive to inlaws and do it all again the next day. Wahaaaay. :)

Should add, it's been the same since the first Christmas I can remember, and I wouldn't change it for a thing. (Well, maybe a vxr8)  :y

Always have stockings in this house, adults and kids...Christmas is not Christmas without the stocking.
Then down for coffee, get house ready for any other visitors and dinner.
After dinner, sleep while females wash up...then pressies....
Buffet tea.... then a special supprise presents to grandchildren from Grampy...family traddition from years back, before my time
Then silly games till bed
With plenty of booze to fill all the gaps :y

This year - possibly but probably not Christmas dinner early afternoon, then watch some shite on tv for a while until 6.30pm,then off to work for 12 hours. ::)
It used to be magical and wonderful when the kids were young, apart from getting to bed at 2am and them waking us up 2 hours later to say that Santa had been. ;D
