What does an I pod touch do compared to a tablet?

Miss Vamps just had her Ipod fixed at the Ipod shop, 3 hours later broken, reluctant to buy another, dependent on answers to my question........in not tech basic language please... ::)

The i-Pod is generally designed to be a portable media device, geared towards iTunes.  Ideal for Music, OK as a web browser for basic things.

A Tablet is larger (the i-Pad is the Apple equivalent).  More geared towards those who dont need a 'proper' keyboard but have the need for a Laptop.

You may be confusing Ipad and Tablet and then Ipod which is a more a music specific item with limited pictures thrown in.

You could not really compare an Ipod and a Tablet on grounds of functionality. Ipods are generally rock solid on the music side - I would not dream of expecting much more from it.

The tablet is a more powerful tool altogether - a mini laptop but with instant programme load - again don't try and emulate a pc with it but it is much better equipped for films, catch up tv, etc, games, news

No, not confusing anything, basic question is do I buy an new Ipod or a small tablet, not crapple, swmbo tells me the repair bit in the Ipod shop was full of people complaining about crapple products...

Music is not it's priority, games and facebook being the two primary uses....currently swmbo is arguing for an Ipod..... ::) ::) ::)

Miss Nickbat wants a new one for Christmas. If you go here

http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/ipod_touch_4thgeneration

...and select the "Compare iPods models" tab, you can see what each version does. The latest 5th generation looks good, but Apple products are always heinously expensive.  ::)
