I've not been on here for ages!
« on: 01 May 2008, 20:13:06 »

Hi folks,
Rather busy at the moment, converting our loft space... looking forward to doing absolutely bloody nothing this bank holiday weekend... still got about 3-4 weekends to get stuck in at it there after.
We've got the window in, also the floor is now as good as complete, being a sparky by trade I've run the ring main in and made provisions for the lighting,  I also dabble with plumbing to a reasonable standard, so, the radiator piping is plumbed in and ready to pressurise once the rad is on...

I can't believe the price of the bits for the job, £500 ish for the wood alone.. £200 ish for the insulation... the list goes on...

All told though, about £1300-1500...

Not bad for a spare room! ::)

reminds me of the guy who chopped the webs out of his roof trusses to create more space in his loft conversion :o

Sound like a good deal much cheaper than getting the builders in. ;)
