Help!! Need to rent a timing kit ASAP please!!
« on: 28 December 2012, 12:09:59 »

Hi all. Has anyone got a timing tool kit I can rent for a day?!

After 2 attempts of getting the timing wrong I'm at wits end! All the marks are on perfect but now the car is down on power big time... Ticks over perfectly at 500rpm, revs up fine. Put it on the road and it's totally gutless :(

Can anyone help?!

Thanks in advance, Pedro

Hi,

I've always thought the easiest thing to do would be to buy one, use it then re-sell on the bay if you can't find a lender. just an idea.

i even heard once that somebody did this and actually got more than they paid for it! lol

Heres what i posted back in Jan 2012 regarding the cam kit, there are a few for sale but i believe there are guys on here who can loan one as i was offered that last year.

"I had the Cam belt change CD recently from the oof shop, i must say this is a brilliant CD, i followed it to the letter and it all want back together with no hiccups, started fist time and runs sweet, with a new water pump also.

I had the laptop charged, stuck it on the top of engine and followed the instructions to the letter.

All i had to purchase was the locking kit which cost £99.00 from fleebay, i then resold it on fleebay and got £115 for it on auction.

If any of you guys are thinking of doing a belt change but are not sure, go for it, it saved me a shed loads of cash, the only tool outlay was the cam locking kit but i made on that when resold.

Hats off to the guys who put this together.
