..... In a supermarket, pick up carton, pay for it and leave, simple.

.... another local business goes to the wall because the money has gone from the local economy to Tesco/Asda/etc .... Simple!  :(

I agree with the sentiment, however the milk delivery companies were not really local businesses, they were big National concerns. And if their employees had been honest I would still be using them.

Are you sure you wernt a victim of milk theft.....goes on quite a bit, milk getting pinched from doorsteps  :-\ esp if you dont have a front garden/path to your frontdoor.

This wasn't a case of milk getting nicked from the door, it was about being charged when we were away and had cancelled, disputes about the quantities, even disputes about whether we had paid or not (started to write cheques so there was proof), all sorts of things. No, life is complicated enough, the supermarket it simpler.

Asda....4 pints...£1. You can't argue with that, and before you go on about the taste, we use red...milky water. ;D

I have red top too.....and the taste  :-X  ;D

But it is, atm, £2.60 for four 1 pint bottles. If you go through 2/4 pints a day then i can see its makes sense to buy supermarket milk if your on a budget  :)

I've only ever drank the full fat stuff, apart from when at the in-laws when the only option is semi-synthetic - & you can tell the difference in coffee. It's only recently that I've had to give the green top (untreated) milk up because the local milkman has stopped doing it (before he reckons the law says so)  :(

I am switching to abel and cole as they do non-homogenised milk.  I have been searching for it down here for ages!

Thats seemed a fairly good shout Guffer, as their milk supplier is Berkeley Farm Dairy, which is only about 2 miles from me. So nice and local. However, looking at Abel and Cole's website, it seems you have to order a min of £10/week from them.  Not something im sure i want to do  :-\
