Omega 2.2 Rough running
« on: 29 December 2012, 16:35:12 »

My omega 2.2 is  having a problem as it runs quite rough and sometimes the  speedo  hunts every now and then. This is more noticeable when I am in traffic  but when the car is running its runs very well.

I have eliminated the maf sensor, fitted a brand new  GM crankshaft  & Cam shaft sensor and i have also replaced the plugs  with genuine GM ones.

I have a sturborn error that won't thats keeps coming up but does not light up the EML.
The message is :
P1405  Present ( 8 )  Feedbacksensor Exhaust Gas Recirculation.
How should i fix this??
Any comments will be highly appreciated and pls as much details as possible as i need to explain this to my mechanic..

Thanks

Give the EGR a good clean: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90553.0

Also make sure the throttle body is nice and clean: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90528.0

That can cause problems, but as you've put new plugs in should be fine.

If when you replaced the cam cover gaskets the plug holes were full of oil by replacing the plugs would have sorted the oil...however were the plug rubbers and springs on your coil pack  split or fouled up because you can replace all 4 springs and rubbers very cheaply .. :y

Thanks alot mate. Took car to a mechanic, removed egr and cleaned and the area around the EGR base he found a blocked hose full of crap and that is what was causing the problem.
Car is running sweet as a nut!! I am so chuffed. :y
Happy New year everyone :y
