Hi all, after finally getting the timing belt back on my 2.2 after the head gasket change, I have put the rest back together and started her up, now the issues start.

Straight away you can hear a misfire, code reader shows it as being on cylinder 3, after the engine has been run for a while, codes cleared and reread, it is now showing the misfire and that injector 3 circuit is open. There was no issue with this before, I have checked and swapped spark plug, plug was dry and white on cylinder 3, all others were black. This points towards no fuel, correct? Weird thing though, car warmed up enough to switch to LPG, and there was still a misfire, so does that point towards coil pack?

P1525 Trottle Body Service Required
P1550 DTC definitions not found
P1781 Engine Torque Signal Circuit
P1526 Minimum Throttle Position Not Learned

Not sure about these. Obviously all sorts have been taken out during the rebuild, I have rechecked all connections, they are fine. Have bought a replacement genuine 2nd hand MAF as my last one was falling apart (although working okay), tried both and made no difference. I have cleaned the trottle body, one of the ports was totally blocked, and butterfly was very dirty. Have tried running the car without MAF attached, made no difference.

Bit stuck now and not sure what to do to proceed, any help much appreciated. Cheers

Sorry to do this but really need some help.

What should my next step be diagnosing, don't just want to start replacing parts at random. Is there anyway to test the injector? How easy are they to remove?

LPG bods out there, would a fault with the petrol injector cause the ECU to shut it down to prevent further damage? If so could that be why the fault persists on LPG?

I think looking around the throttle body, given the codes and symptoms, would be a start

Petrol injectors are bullet proof, I'd whip off the throttle body & do a full breather clean to start with

Thanks chaps. I have cleaned the whole lot, reckon I might just have to take it all off again just to check connections etc. 1 question, should the butterfly flap be perfectly horizontal when engine off? It does a twitch when you turn on the ignition, assume that is correct?

Nope, should be at slight angle.

Just ordered genuine coil and cam sensor off AndyC (very nice chap), saving me over £50 from my local dealers!

Just want to check that you just install the cam sensor, it does not have to have anything special done to it? Should I clear fault codes before I install it? Also all these errors cannot damage either the coil or cam sensor can they?

Fairly sure the coil is the problem, TheBoy commented on another post I did a few months back it was looking past it's best as it has cracks all over the plastic, I was getting a misfire then too but changed the spark plugs and it went away, also cannot tell if it is genuine or not! And thought I might as well do the can sensor as I have read in other posts that the engine torque signal code is not meant to appear on the 2.2 and relates to the gearbox, hense a funny code and therefore pointing towards a duff can sensor, hope that sounds logical?

Only my suggestion....but if your getting missfiring after you have refitted the cambelt....think i'd be checking the cambelt timing is spot on to start with
