Question... i have just picked up ex plod omega with lpg.

Do they want to test on fuel and gas?

Believe it is tested on the fuel that is being used when presented, ie if driven in on lpg then lpg tested, if petrol, then petrol obviously both systems fall under the test with regard to plmbing, tank security, leaks etc

As Al say's, how its presented, The Emission Test for LPG is a lot less stringent than for Petrol (same as No Cats Test) which can be handy if it failed emissions on Petrol, represent on LPG.

Yep, also been half tempted to take the Cats off my 3.2 Manual LPG with that in mind

My mate kepts asking what if he fits 3.0 cats to 3.2 just add the two o2 sensers.... Question??

No idea but dont think the 3.2 ECU would be happy with it?

Anyway, 3.0 Cats can be fitted to a 3.2 (it has been done to one of Jimbob's cars) and they are believed to be slightly better flowing. You need to modify the flange where it meets the manifold and fit the extra Lambda sensors in too (you may need to extend the wiring)

As for the MOT... It gets tested on the fuel it is presented (make sure you inform the tester it is running on LPG if that is the case)

Oh, and removing the cats would now be a failure as they must be fitted But you could smash the insides out and then refit the straight pipes

It's not the best plod car.... rusty, may need brake pipes, sills are rusty under plastic skirt, but want to mot and use for 4 months, try gas out then break plod car, remove gas to a 3.0 estate, happy days, oh lsd too 

The problem with auto box was a garage fitted a seal to box and removed to fit, as ATF so then needing topping up i think looking at it they used black old used engine oil  didn't smell of ATF at all, flushed all rad and pipes, fitted another AR35 and result, drifts very well

Anyone know this lpg kit?? is it a good one? guy said he had a plug softwarm thing somewhere and would send it found it, can anyone just plug into this type of kit?

Plug is above silver like ecu box to right on engine in pictures

Says its included in the sale, so make sure you get lead and cd tom from him, leads can be hard to find. Although brc are quire common and work fairly well.

If you have lead, cd and lap top, anyone can plug in. Unless brc have restrictions on it for dealers only, but I doubt it.

If you have the plenum off at any point, have a look where the injector pipes are fitted, and that the down angle is similar to the petrol injectors, sometimes the fitters get lazy and bodge it. At least there's no straws in the plenum on this one.

BRC is a good system... It's what Entwood has fitted

ISTR that it's actually Dealer only for the software so you may only have basic access (full access comes with a "Dongle" normally) but I think there are hacked copies around so it may be one of them

Another Question for lpg heads 

I picked up a BRC Sequent 56 kit without lpg tank, will i need a tank to match that kit? something about a sender or any tank do the job??

Any tank will do but you might need a specific level sender
