A Turkish jail is almost certainly a very different place to a British jail though Cem. A workmate of mine served 4 years for GBH a while back and he said the whole experience was similar to staying at a reasonably priced hotel, apart from the fact you cant leave when you want to,which made it mind numbingly boring after a while. The boredom was,to an extent, relieved by acces to TV/Xbox/playstation etc. ;)

Albs :)  I can understand your toughts, but imagining a prisoners condition and living inside is totally different..

coming from a lawyer family I have met and witnessed many long year prisoners who killed family, robbed bank and many other bad things.. trust me a high percentage of them change.. the remaining who dont change are pure psychopats..which must be evaulated under another branch.. :-\

Albeit that I believe in capital and corporal punishment, it ain't gonna happen.....and I aknowledge about tv's and computers being part of 'rehabilitation'....
But why can't the system comprise of 'hard labour' with no tv's and computers etc, for the first half of sentence (punishment)....then introduce the other stuff as part of rehabilitation ;)
