Double Yolk...
« on: 09 January 2013, 10:32:13 »

I had scrambled eggs for my tea last night.  :)

The first egg I cracked had a double yolk... 'That must be lucky' I thought, but then the second egg also had a double yolk and so did the third!!  :o  It's pretty unusual, but is that a sign of luck or a bad omen??  :-\

I did have a little punt on Aston Villa last night.. Doh!!  :(

It is really not that unsual. You get double yolked eggs when the hens first start to lay until they get into the rhythm of one egg a day, so with a new flock all of the same the same age the number of double yolkers goes up. :y

Can also be a sign that the chicken is more than 12 months old.

The answer is yes but it's very rare for both to survive.
