Yes the diplomats and MPs are getting a bit shirty.

Remind me again, who gains the most from a bureaucratic empire?  ;)

I used to spend a lot of time in Germany and everyone there were predicting doom and gloom for us when we didn't adopt the Euro. ;D

Just a reminder , in less than 5 years Britain will be in the euro. You may think it a comical assertion today but there are vays of making you join once you need the baiulout and you vill need the bailout. The books just don't and never vill balance.

They are all poking their noses in simply because it is in THEIR interest for Britain to remain in, not OURS.

This should show you how strong our position is. :y :y

Just make sure he keeps in hands in sight on the table or he will be sticking a knife in somebody's back.  :o :o :o :o

What makes me laugh is all the pro-business lobby running scare stories like they did with the Euro. How stupid do they think we are? The EU is running a trade surplus with the UK not the other way around, so they would lose and the UK gains if they do this. So if they impose tariffs on cars from the UK, we will do the same, so the UK population then buy UK made Jags, Hondas, Nissans and Vauxhalls and cars made outside of the EU like Kias etc. instead of Mercs, BMWs, VWs, Fiats, Renaults and Peugeots.  :y :y :y :y

The country that is currently getting much investment in manufacturing because it is outside of the EU is Turkey with European Kias made there. Why, because they have similar wages to Eastern Europe without the EU social costs, so we may actually do better outside of the EU and that is what they are really scared of as then other countries would follow, where the EU is shown up for busted flush it is.  :y :y :y :y

Indeed Tiggerhayes!

They know, as the World does, what Great Britain can achieve when it goes alone and stands up above the crowd.

Never shall we be slaves of anyone, and certainly never of European politics and what that represents!  Never!!

Err, wake up and smell the coffee. Britain already are slaves to European politics. Did we get a referendum on the Lisbon treaty. NO. Are unelected officials in Brussels creating laws and rules for Britain NOW. err, Yes.  It is too late Britain is in the dragnet along with the rest of Europe bumping along the bottom.

No it has not gone that far.......yet!  We can make our own decisions in the UK, and we do not belong to the Euro.  We do now need though very strong politicians who can guide Great Britain away from the EU, and say "NO" when we need to as in fact Cameron & co is starting to do more of.

Come the next general election in 2015 I feel sure that the British public will show how they are not slaves of anyone, especially Europe, and vote accordingly.  The political pressure is growing on a EU that is fracturing slowly but surely. The British must make sure that pressure is maintained until it breaks apart!

Slaves cannot do all that!! ::) ::)

Over 70% of our new laws are made in Europe without our consent, input or even very often our knowledge.
I think Cameron is bluffing, hoping to appease his own eurosceptics and take the wind out of UKIP,s sails. I think hes hoping events will overtake his promises as they did with his last promise of a refurendum.
I dont believe he will ever give the British people a straight in/out vote on the EUSSR.
Nice to see youve come round to the right way of thinking on the EU though Lizzie. :y

You're right there Albs!  :)  If by some chance the Tories win the next election, Camoron will either completely renege on any manifesto pledge to give the people of Great Britain a referendum on Europe, any manifesto pledge will be so vague that once in government they can claim that they never actually promised a referendum or the referendum questions will be sufficiently woolly that the government can interpret the result to suit!   >:(
