inverters
« on: 12 January 2013, 15:31:34 »

Taking a small screen and dvd player with me on my travels for some evening entertainment.

Then i thought, why not plug an inverter into the rear cig lighter for passenger entertainment?

Do these devices draw much current? 200-300w inverter should do.

Probably more than you think, 300W load at 230v is just over a 1 amp, but to generate that from a 12v Inverter (assuming some efficiency loss) I would be guessing at 12v around 25 to 30 Amps under load.
