what battery for my Miggy?
« on: 21 January 2013, 19:48:25 »

Guys

anyone know what correct battery i should have in my car? and how much does a VX one cost?
my Miggy is a 1998 S reg 2.5 V6

my lights aren't that bright, even after changing the bulbs... got a feeling my battery is not the most powerful kind
is it a 72ah one i need or a 70ah?

Dim lights are unlikely to be an aging battery :)

Could be alternator output is a tad low, or that the headlight lenses are damaged.  And all connections, as Symes says.

Ageing bulbs do not help either.  Most people are surprised at how much performance is lost over the life of a bulb.

the bulbs are only 4 weeks old :y
lenses on headlights are fine

alternator need replacing if the connections aren't corroded? :o

Syme, did you say my battery output was low recently when you tested it?
you were a bit concerned as it was very low? could be that mate? :o

As always.. A bit of diagnosis is best before changing parts on a hunch...
