ebay paypal cock up
« on: 29 January 2013, 12:00:14 »

purchased a climate control panel from ebay it was 15 plus 7 postage. went to pay with paypal put in my credit card details and then it came up error. so i tried again. same thing so tried one more time. same thing. then 30 mins later tried on a mates paypal account. same error message. so thought it must be a fault with paypal.
i tried again late yesterday and it went through ok, then i find paypal had taken all those transactions that came up with error so ive payed the guy 5 times.
rang paypal and they reversed 3 of my 4 to leave just the one to pay him and my mates going to email them to get his one reversed.
aparantly they had a systems problem yesterday morning. it cost me 6 pound on my mobile to call them and to rub salt in to the wound the guys now changed the postage to 35quid saying i need to pay 50 pounds.
hes polish and isnt responding to my emails. >:(

I don't think a vendor can alter the price once the deal has been done,I would report him to Ebay >:(

hi Devonscott,

Although you are short of the 250 post count for the  "parts wanted" section . :( :(

If you place a "wanted" ad in the Test Zone  I believe the admins will usually move it to correct section for you :-\ .

Any parts you need in future  . . always best to try the breakers  on here first IMO :y

Had the same multi payment problem on Saturday when buying something off fleabay.

I ended up paying £225 for a £45 purchase as 4 times it told me I had an error and the payment couldn,t be transmitted to the sellers paypal account. After each unsuccesfull attempt I cancelled the payment and on the 5th time it went through.

When I checked my bank account Sunday I was £225 lighter although it has now been reversed but the money has gone into my paypal account not back to my bank, not that that is such a problem, but thought it was just my bad luck but see others have had similar issues.

Credit card company should be contacted asap and advised...they should be able to sort it for you.

I,d leave the seller alone until you get the money back
