Replacement Keys needed
« on: 02 February 2013, 02:49:52 »

I now need 2 keys as the one that came with Migsy is a 3 button one
And as far as I know estates have 2 button ones
This will now no longer lock Migsy remotely
On investigation the micro switch has come off the circuit board
And the key is also much the worse for wear
So I need 2 replacement 2 button ones 1 for a spare (kept in swmbo's handbag) and of course 1 for myself
I have the car pass that came with Migsy
So I need to know who is my nearest member (to Leeds) with Tech 2 who can help me
Thanks :y :y

I would think Mark (in Nottingham) is closest but it may be worth holding out for a meet :-\ Or biting the bullet and going to the dealers with a tub of Vaseline in hand :-\

Unless, of course, you want some updates doing in which case that may make the long journey easier to justify :y

OK Thanks LD :y :y
Nottingham's not so bad as It's a day out for swmbo and I
Especially as we hopefully should be able to arrange a meet up with A1JON
He has a front inner wing liner he kindly said I could have if I could collect :y
Anyway I don't feel so comfortable with one key only available
Sort of waiting for a lost key then trouble :'(
Had it all before many moons ago
So I'll PM Mark and hope he can help
Once more thanks

It's been under discussion recently to see if there is the demand. Last year was a pretty poor turnout TBH ;) Although the weather may well have played it's part ::)

If the 3 button one worked, as a temporary solution, you can send it down to me, and I'll solder new ones in. No spare rubbers though.

As to meets - a few of us had a discussion last night, and I was going to post up another poll when I get a moment.

Thanks TB for your kind offer
However it would be difficult to carry out when it's the only key available
Now I think I have my key situation sorted
As both yourself (in an earlier topic) and now LD has advised that Marks DTM was my nearest Tech 2
I've been in contact and he's kindly helped with info to go about getting new key blanks cut & immobiliser chips
So the plan is to get two blades cut to the car pass spec and 2 virgin immobiliser chips
This should give two newish keys with Marks DTM's kind help
One for myself and one for swmbo's handbag
The well worn original 3 button one I'll keep as a reserve secretly hidden within the body of Migsy
And accessable from the outside
What a performance age and all that :D ;D ::) :'(
Know your own weaknesses I say
So when  the blanks are sorted I'm looking forward to a mini Nottingham meet with Mark :y
The Power of Oof :y :y
Great Stuff!!!
I'll keep an eye out for that poll TB
Missed both Newent and the Lakes last year due to family
So looking all the more forward to this year's meets :y :y
