Money and Happiness
« on: 06 February 2013, 18:00:05 »

According to this article , the richer you are, generally the happier you are!  :)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/9850842/The-fact-is-the-richer-you-are-the-happier-you-are.html

Is this why people seem to be so miserable in the UK at the moment, where real incomes have dropped by 13.2% since 2007 and still falling. It UK at the moment reminds me of films on the USSR that used to be on TV with people going about their everyday business but nobody smiling.  :(

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to state the obvious especially when Tweedledee and Tweedledum in numbers 10 and 11 Downing Street are concentrating on minority issues while having credible economic and growth policies would benefit everybody.

Have you seen the forecasts today from ??????? (can't! remember but will be on the financial news pages). Not good. Not good at all.
1.2 million public sector jobs must go if Osbourne is to meet his targets. Can't see the private sector taking up that bit of slack.

Schwarzi said that he did not think the money made him happier as he owned 50 million dollars but feel no more happiness when this money was just 48 million.

The time for revolution in the U.K. Cem,would have been when the previous government created those almost a million extra non jobs in the public sector. It has already cost taxpayers many £billions, and the country could never possibly afford the pensions they are due in years to come.

..... and that's half the problem... they all now think they have the god given right to a job for life ... as "the government will pay" ..

......not realising that no government has any money, ever, it just takes money from others and redistributes it. The only money the goverment has is YOURS.

I really wish that "government will pay" and its corollary "council will pay" were banned from the language and replaced by the truth ... "taxpayers will pay"

:(

Read on the bbc yesterday that there are 1.5 million over 65s still in work, little sense there. And then today judges pensions, they get 50% of their salary as a pension about £80k per year. Add to that they only started contributing to their pensions in 2012 and all that makes me really happy.
Reaching the point of don't give a dam anymore.

The Americans phrase it better imo. They never speak of government money. They speak of tax dollars. Not so easy to forget where it comes from when its put that way. ;)
