Anyone else ever had any issues removing them? I know they are put in with loctite but mine wont budge. Out of the 8 only one has come out without damaging the head of the bolt, but the rest are still in there even after adding heat. Stupid design and can see now why vauxhall have changed them to a stantard bolt design. Any info or ideas would be apreciated. Tempted to weld a nut on the end and see if tht might shift them.....

few times we had problem to remove those when was do auto to manual conversion

They've been successfully removed with a blowtorch and a chisel on the edge of a bolt spinning it round by my mate and stepdad. If you ground the ends off tho then how would you remove the studs from the crankshaft?

Once the flywheel is off, the thread that comes through the flywheel will be exposed, giving you enough to grip. Without any pressure (EG the flywheel) on them, the threads just twist out. At least, they do in my experience. I always get new bolts if doing this job as a matter of course.

Thanks for that. Good to know for future reference. Job was made easier as engine was out of the car. Already have new bolts but no thread lock on the end but on the new clutch bolts they have. Would you just bolt in or buy thread lock and apply? Going to the dual mass flywheel just to add.

Be sure to buy the blue stuff and not the red

These are tensile bolts so should always be replaced

One question, is there supposed to be a shims on the front of the flywheel?
If not, you probably have to grind the socket aswell, as i had to do.

no shims you need right socket or grind like you done

no needed on flywheel bolts

U applied blue thread lock. Can't do no harm even if not needed and had to sacrifice another socket. Cheers for all the info guys.
