GLS interior to leather.
« on: 14 February 2013, 18:15:55 »

Help needed and as usual all suggestions and your comments would be much apreciated,...would like to change my standard 1998 2.0 GLS to a leather one from a later V reg pre facelift. My GLS has a driver's air bag and nothing else, but the leather one has side airbags and heated seats,so the question is will it go into the GLS connection wise or is it going to need a modification,I accept that the heated seat side of things won't work as I probably don't have a loom to connect them up too,but will the ecu recognise that there's something going on with two extra airbags and throw a fault for them :-\

If both are MFL, should be OK. But the fact you say one lacks side airbags, they are from different eras, thus incompatible.

Is that an absolute or would there be a chance that there would be the same multi plug connector similar to the situation that we have with the ex plod cars i.e some features work and some do'nt,I was hoping that would be the case on the earlier cars also,I'm not to worried about the side airbags etc not working as the car never had them in the first place. :-\

If no side airbag wiring in the car, then doubt it's really an issue, as they simply won't be connected :-\
