Outside Temp sensor - calibration?
« on: 20 February 2013, 11:09:35 »

Hi All,

New member and fairly new Omega owner. The car was very cheap and has a few issues so you'll probably hear more from me! Some one ran into the back of it 20 minutes after I picked it up and effectively wrote it off so it's not got off to a great start!

Firstly, the outside temperature sensor was just reading F. I traced the problem to the connector upstream from the sensor having a slightly corroded and pushed out pin.

Having fixed that though, the temperature reading seems to be about 4 degrees too high.

Is this likely to be because there is still a problem with the connector or will it be because the sensor itself is duff? I did buy another second hand sensor a few weeks ago but I can't find it now, which is a little irritating!

Is there a table of resistance values that the sensor should deliver for specific temperatues? I'm wondering if I can test it that way...

I've just had the same problem - display saying that it was 69o, so i changed the sensor.
This seems to have solved that problem, but i think that it is showing warmer than it actually is by 3-4o.
Is this sensor something that CAN be calibrated or am i gonna have to stick with the temp i have.
