'Another' boiler question.

Seems to be that time of year again ?? The problem I have is, the boiler fires up for about a minute every 10 minutes or so, night and day even when the heating is off. Can't be anything to do with frost protection in these balmy days of 3 - 4 degrees.. I suspect an electrical problem ? So is it a job for an electrician or a plumber ? Thinking about 'gas safe'. Any help would be greatly appreciated..  :y

If it's a combi boiler with 'instant' hot water, do you have it set to keep it's tiny little reserve of hot water hot? Mine can be set to do that too (and was, on installation)..

Depends on the installation, but ours did this due to a faulty microswitch in one of the motorised valves (same type as used in an Omega's door locking motor, and just as reliable). ;D

I did wonder about the thermostat, but how would that control ignition of the boiler when the heating is switched off? I have read through absolutely masses of information on the net regarding this very issue, but of course many might be slightly different? Then of course there is the fact that, as soon as people start getting technical my 'extremely old' brain just goes into 'shutdown mode'...  :-[
