A serious topic

Last year, a good friend and neighbour was diagnosed with cancer. He underwent very invasive surgery and a course of chemotherapy which nearly killed him (he was one of those who suffered a severe adverse reaction to the course). His cancer is now back and although the outlook is unknown at this stage, it prompted me to do some research. We pour millions into cancer research and, although the treatment success rate has improved, those afflicted must still suffer the distressing side effects and a cell clean-up rate which falls disappointingly below 100%.

I was fascinated, therefore, to stumble across this story, entitled "The Kanzius Machine", which was featured in the 13 April 2008 broadcast of CBS' 60-minutes programme.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/04/10/60minutes/main4006951.shtml

If you have 12 minutes to spare to watch the video, I would very much appreciate the views of members on this "invention". Will it prove to be another dead-end or will it become the most exciting medical breakthrough of the century?

What do you think?

Is this the chap who helped us when we did your cam belt? (can't remember his name)  :(

If so, a nicer and more helpful chap you couldn't hope to meet. I do hope he pulls through. Please give him my best wishes.

its funny sometimes that how low-tech answers to questions can reap such great rewards i hope it really does well in the clinical trials that they have planned.... :)

Yes, Kevin, it is (Colin). He's had a rough time of it, but still keeps cheerful and positive. Top chap, as you say.
