Im going to attempt to do both of the above by following all the guides but is there anything else i should do while im doing the thermostat also what associated parts would i need when doing theses jobs.

I already have the coolant and spark plugs and the gaskets for the plenum obviously i need oil and filter and all the other filters. But is there any little bits i need when putting it back together.

Also is there anyone in Essex or close that wouldn't mind helping i don't mind helping out if you have a bigger job and need an extra set of hands ill help you with that aswell. To be honest i would just like some one to make sure im doing it alright i don't want you to do all the work and i stand there and watch. i am more than happy to travel a little way or you could come to me.

you should be cool with just the guides mate. if not I found it handy to keep my laptop on with this site up so when I did new stuff for the first time and something cropped up that scared me I could post for help.... and the good folk helped within seconds 

also be prepared to wrestle with the stat housing or more specifically the pipe to the stat housing.... if some farking monkey has shoved a whole tub of strong sealing compound (like mine had  ) it could take a while to prise free.................. which is why you set yourself a good while to do it. 

also the stat housing may break on removal (mine didn't but I know others have experienced this.... have new one spare).

give yourself enough time. remember that 'b' bolt is easy to get off.... a bitch to get back on. so I gave myself a whole weekend free to do the job and got rid of any unwanted distractions like the wife.

(when I say got rid of... I don't mean bash her over the head and bury her in the garden........... **wonders why I didn't do that**
