Outside Temperature Sensor Faulty
« on: 03 April 2013, 20:06:32 »

Hi all,

My outside temp display is just showing "F   C" I know that is really is F***** Cold out there but I suspect my temp sensor is faulty or is perhaps in need of a clean.

Can anyone tell me where it lives on the car. Any pictures? or description.

One other question - Would a faulty outside temp sensor also affect the cabin temperature/ACon. It might just be a coincidence but since the temp sensor went awol my aircon is only pumping out cold air, unless I set the inside temp to 26 degrees or above?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm only quoting past replies ...... my MFL is definitely on  the passenger side, but pictures I've seen here of the FL car's sensors have shown them to be in the middle  ;)

I think you'll find that the Astra mk3's also use the same earlier type sensor & mounted in the same place as the pre F/L miggy, & the Mk4 Astras use the same one as the F/Lift miggy & is mounted around the middle of the front bumper, Just thought id chuck that in as the Astras are plentiful in scrapyards :y.
