Thanks for the heads up.I was going to post a parcel tomorrow which I thought would cost £2.70,looks like it will now be £5.65.
I will investigate couriers instead.I normally send large packages via courier and small ones Royal Fail,but that will change now. They have now become almost completely pointless imo, pricing themselves completely out of the market.Complete privatisation is the only option for it imo.

Thats just silly pricing.

Used to get deliveries of computer parts, ordered before 6pm, next day before 10am from 1 item to 2 pallets for cost of £5.

These seem to be the way forward, Just drop off at one of the shops that do this such as Spar etc.. No waiting for Couriers. and only 3 simple prices.

+1 , These new prices are daylight robbery. And strangely there's been no mention of these increases on the news.

Because it now brings RM's parcel service in line with couriers. Letter prices have remained static.

Its the old "parcel" service thats the biggest difference...  ...they've done away with it, but increased the 2nd class letter/large letter/small packages to go up to 20kg.

It makes sense for them to simplify their services IMHO.  Businesses generally use couriers anyway, or negotiate special rates via franked mail.

If you use another courier & they card the recipient, that couriers depot might be miles away. My nearest UPS depot is 27 miles away.
