Rust must technically weigh more than sheet steel with all that added oxygen ::)

Well the weighbridge is a calibrated affair so can't be wrong, mind you it was an Elite with the leccy seats etc so spose that adds up,I printed the ticket at the time but damned if I can find it now :-\

I believed you, just didn't think they weighed as much as that in the metal .....  ;)

hi recently got an omega 2.6 elite. Is it supposed to get more than 18 to the gallon? cheers.

Check your 2.6 Elite against my test figures for my 2.6 Elite: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=108869.msg1362683#msg1362683

The 2.0 auto I used to have did about 18 mpg round town, on a run it did about 35 to 38. Its a big heavy car and the 2.6 engine works hard to move it.

According to the handbooks that come with the car the heaviest(kerb weight)is the Elite saloon with auto box, which comes in at 1808KG,this is for either the 2.5TD,2.5V6 or 3.0V6.The permissable vehicle weight then becomes 2340KG for the same vehicles. Please note that in the handbooks I have the 2.6V6,or the 3.2V6 are not listed.
