whats happened to my mpg

what going on with my mpg when i first got my 3.2 manual estate it had a lsd fitted and i was getting around 26 mpg when the lsd died i fitted a 2.5 diesel diff and was getting 28/29 mpg then the rear box went rotten so the boy racer came out in me and i had straight through pipes fitted and it dropped to around 27 ish i have now replaced the whole system with one of the ones like eternalcar supply from Poland and it has dropped to 25 mpg ? i did have the eml light come on ages ago before the exhaust back box failed and we came to the conclusion it was the common pre cat fault . i gave the car a drink of super unleaded and some injector cleaner and the light has been off ever since ?

EML light .. don't assume... check ... pedal trick.  If the light is on do it and tell us the codes .. :)

i done that and posted a video of the result on here and one of our faithful trusted members said it was the pre cats

Maybe the pre cats are collapsing and restricting the exhaust gasses escaping  :-\
