Continuity Errors
« on: 14 April 2013, 20:25:02 »

Having just finished watching the latest Essex Boys film... The fall of the Essex boys I noticed one or two annoying obvious continuity errors

Whilst I know it's a straight to video, why even bother if your going to miss out the obvious

The most obvious a MK3 mondeo parked in the car park.. It's set in 1995 !  It didn't come out to 2000

Whist it shouldn't annoy me it does, much to the other halfs dismay

Anyone else know of any real obvious ones in films, TV ?

I often get told off by Miss Vamps or swmbo for commenting on such issues, Car's and some points of  Law, in my specialist area, I don't remember an Allegro in Heartbeat but do seem to remember them getting to the Mk1 Escort early. Foyles War had a Routmaster Bus in 1946 but they did not come into service till the mid 50's. I keep being told that it is only a television programme........ :D :D :D

Back in the nineties I use to have two Chevy Paramedic ambulances and did quite a bit of film location work, either providing stand by cover during the dangerous stuff, and on a few occasions they were used in american themed films including Superman1 some of which was filmed at pinewood in 1978.Obviously that was before I took ownership but I kept them on the books at the various agencies who source the vehicles for the requirements of the film company. With the limited contact I had with the production crew the only person I had a couple of fallouts was with the person who was responsible for the appearance of the vehicle before the the scene was filmed as they really were clue less about authenticity and wether they were right or wrong that's how it was going to be.I took the vehicles off the books after one was booked for an appearance in a remake of The Saint, and without prior consultation with me they were going to to get a stunt man to do a handbrake turn in a chase sequence, except for the fact that the Chevy does'nt have a hand brake..it's a foot operated pedal with a hand release,I had a quick think on the implications of two and half tons of Yank tin and three grands worth of medical equipment flying around the back streets of Shepherds Bush and told them to go break themselves and drove off the set.Never got any more bookings after that....no idea why :-\

It happens all the time with period drama and the railways.

The times I see a drama about say the 1930's, and pulling into the station is an Standard Class engine pulling a train that dates from BR days and even has a BR crest and number on it's sides! ::) ::) :D :D ;)
