Posting of parts
« on: 18 April 2013, 13:14:28 »

As above

What is the cheapest / most reliable way to post parts around the country ?

In the past, I have just popped down the post office and done it like that but tbh, they seem to be taking the pish with there prices  >:(

Who are members on here using ?
What sort of prices are they charging (the courier that is)
Who seems to be the most reliable.
Any horror story's out there with certain couriers who like to loose bits or use them as a football ?

TIA  :)

Always worth OOF parcel service for the very big parcels, things like parcel shelf.

Recall this place being mentioned few times: http://www.parcel2go.com/

UPS very good :y, albeit at a price ::)

For bigger/heavier items, worth getting a quote from local haulage firms :y for instance, the firm I drove for yesterday charges from £26.50 per pallet anywhere in mainland UK :y

A single level is maybe 26 standard 3'x4' pallets, double decked probably 40 :-\. The £26.50 is probably a three or four day service, the prices tend to go up quite quickly with weight/urgency and dimensions. A double decked economy load might make £350 on each trip, whereas a full urgent load might be nearer a grand :-\

I am waiting for a faulty USB stick to come back from a customer in Austria. He used Hermes.

It was initiated at 11.56 on the 15th April. Just checked and it has arrived at a depot in Linz, AUSTRIA today the 18th 04.00.

Three days . It is costing me 11.80 euros (about ten quid). I posted in signed for mail 4.10 euros and it got there in three days from Spain.

I shan't be using them ever .
