What is also fantastic (but cannot get at photo just now) is that they guide the plane in using genuine ping pong bats instead of the aviation type paddles. Having said that at least they can be a***d to guide the planes in as opposed to John Lennon airport where nobody will be around and the pilots have to sort themselves out.

dodgy is not the quite the right word but certainly beset by problems of conflict which have in turn created low growth and poverty issues.

Looks like Kinshasa, the arrivals/departure lounge was painted the same blue the last time I was there in 1979 and the runway apron was littered by Fiat G91 jets in various forms of 'spares or repair'! ;D

Try getting service personel into them to support and repair oil related vessels, very difficult!  :y

We have had two people hospitalised in the Ivory Coast this year alone sadly.

Unlikely to see any of the local African airline liveries at a UK airport as most of them are banned from EU airspace due to inadequate maintenance and crew training.  ::) :o :o :o

The service only operates 3 times a week and arrives and departs between 8.30 and 9.30am.

The pilot is European I think but does not speak or get out of aircraft on turn round. Co pilot is Kenyan and no French is spoken on board.

Not sure if the bar is ever used for serving passengers - maybe private charters
