I have on my driveway a R plate 3.0 MV6 auto and a T plate 2.5TD Elite auto.

MPG much better on TD, but MV6 is obviously much quicker.

Tut, why not LPG convert the 3.0? You'll get a better return for your money invested, and filling up with fuel is an investment now days  >:(, than from a smelly oil burner and still get all the fun!  ;) :y :y

Yourself!!!  :y :y :y

Urrmm, other than that I haven't really... I'm going to do my own so I haven't really looked into it but there's a place in Sudbury, I believe, who is apparently very good. Failing that, a trip to one of the converters being used already would work, as long as they could supply a courtesy car!

If you are able to use spanners to a moderate degree then i woud recommend doing it yourself.

It does require sometime, about 3 solid days if doing it solo and 2 if with someone else who knows what they are doing, a fill kit can be bought for £650, LPG costs 55p per litre, your fuel consumption will be about 5mpg less than you would get on petrol and you will lose approx 20bhp (both of them are no great issues when you are cruising down the motorway)
I ran an Elite 2.5V6 for 15,000 miles with no issues at all and am just about to convert a 2.6 CDX to gas.

The only thing i would recommend would be to have the car checked over once the install has been done, if nothing else for your own peace of mind, and you have to inform your insurers, mine didn't increase my premium at all  :y

There are a few people on her that have done conversions, myself included if you have any queries ask away  :y
