Confused at Dis Pack leads
« on: 27 April 2013, 17:18:12 »

Changing the leads on MotherT's 1999 3.0 Elite Estate (F/L)

After removing the dispack, thats fine!  >:( - No damage or signs of corrusion. Although pot 1 lead was split, causing a miss-fire.

Just wired up the 1-3-5 bank all ok, but I pull plug 2, so front of the engine, passenger side. But this is the smallest lead? Yet according to the guide it goes to the back of the dispack, inside row (closest to engine block)

Is that right?  :-\ - Appears a bit tight  :-\

I matched up the leads for the 1-3-5 bank as close as possible, as the replacement leads appear tad shorter than GM. So leaves me with two quite long leads for 4 & 6?  :-\

Lead for pot2

Shortest plug lead goes to # 6 ..back cylinder and from center post on inner row.

Longest lead on that side of engine will be #2 cylinder and the other one is for cylinder # 4 in the middle.

I would ignore those plug lead numbers and fit them as they fit :y

Sorted that now, new leads did not match GM. Not fixed fault though (thats another thread!)

Thanks all  :y
