Big Thanks to Marks Hornby
« on: 02 May 2013, 08:44:57 »

Within 30 mins of arriving he had inspected my failed 2.2 flexi, got the plasma cutter out, removed the old one. Then cleaned up the cut, spot welded replacement in, checked it. Then fully welded it up!  :o

He then also took a look at MotherTs 3.0 inlet manifold, no issues to report there so got some tests to run.

Listened to my 3.2, one failed lifter or sticky lifter. Suggested fully synth and sent me on my way with a set of lifters and leads!

Fantastic. Top guy  :y

Big, big thanks  :y

It's this sort of assistance that makes the forum worthwhile.  :y

What it does is turn the compressed air into a super heated plasma (upto 25000 deg C!) which then cuts the steel.

The benefits are that it does not heat the steel up significanlty so distortion is minimised.

Its also very quick and controlable

My ulimate tool would be a light saber, this is as close as I can get at the moment.

I think a light saber would be ace for cutting things, curring openigns in bricks, chopping bits off cars the works....the world needs light sabers.
