Its common,to snap exhaust to downpipe bolts.
I always drill out downpipes and nut and bolt it, when refittimg exhaust.

No, I snapped all 4 on the rear of the cat's going into the centre pipes! Yes, I will drill them, not the biggest problem I have right now!  :(

dont forget mate -if you need help-got hoist and cam locking kit-if required- :y

As mine is a slight blow could I get away with just tightening the nuts? and when you say I can change the gasket without removing the manifold I would obviously have to remove the studs.

Is there a maintance guide on removing the manifolds?

no mate you might be lucky tightening nuts-but otherwise-total pig to do-unless you remove heads/engine :y how do I know ::) been there myself mate :y

Thanks symes, I have the cam keys but no crane.
I'm going with this engine for now, going to button it up and when I can afford to change the engine for a fresher one, I will.... Get the BBQ going too! :y

When hell freezes over mate--some time ago guy on here had 2.2 with probs-well now he sorted it by doing as I said-even went over and helped finish(welding) last saturday :y :y
