If the car is presentable, then worth every penny :y no more or less abused than any other 12 year old car IMHO :y

Check cambelt history, and expect to change front wishbone bushes and heater valve fairly soon and all should be fine :y

Trim might be an issue as will the overall condition of the body.
Remember it was a police car....
Ex TV cars were looked after better than the Met car also.
As Ex Taxi Al says, a good price for a nice enough car but do give her a good service including the cam belt and water pump!!!
Good luck! :-y

I agree... selling them privately would have left you with a nice wad of notes for your purse.

Yep ideally i would sell both privately...the galant is an estate and the dogs n**ts to drive, but mot up this month, and the rear qauter glass got smashed.. >:(  and the omega is a saloon..nice car but i have two dogs and four kids... :) the galants up for spares or repair...

Sorry, but that's a pants deal :-\

I paid £650 for my latest car, a 165k 3.2 estate. Ex Tvp, a shed load of history and a bootfull of spares. Couple of rust spots, but otherwise tidy enough with a brand new MoT :y

I totally agree.. But needs must.. The 2dogs need the extra room so i need the estate...i cant wait for the mitsubishi and the omega to sell cos i need a larger car sooner rather than later... It looks like a nice car in the pictures but it could be a right old shed.... :)

I like ex plod cars for a few reasons

LSD, worth £230 odd quid  8)

You know for at least half its life it has been maintained un like any other

And depending on what you like trim wise, everything you do is an improvement, you basically have a blank canvas to work with  ;)

And people will always stop and ask you about it, especially when the graphics are still etched in  :D ( not always a good point)  :y

Apart from the normal Omega bits to check, things I would check for a ex plod Estate are, check which Force it came from, a normal google on the reg should tell you where it was registered. Any Police print out on service history and what millage it left tne force. Most ARU left the Force with lower millage than Traffic, Check if the LSD works, if fitted most were. Check for Aerial holes rust. Suspention (sleeping police men at speed). Estates if the roof rails have been removed cneck for rust around the pluged holes. Self leveling works and wneel bearing noise.
