Last year I was quoted £950 for my 2000 3.0 so went down the trade route, just got a quote for the 2003 2.6 at £450

Not sure what makes the difference but I have turned 38 since, can't be that much difference in insurance grp's for 400cc??

Yeah my trade excess is horrific, was just considering ditching the trade policy so looked at standard insurance, I am awaiting my trade renewal quote but won't hold my breath that it will go down too

Just got the renewal quote for the Jag - gone up 13% from last year (still good price though), but I'll go down the track of getting cheaper quotes from a couple of other insurance companies, and give my existing company the option of price matching.  They did it last year
