After noting comments in previous posts about home visits ruled out to check on whether benefit claimants are fit to work, I have just had a dealing with the DWP.
Had a call yesterday...was I available for an assessment visit for my mother.
She is in a Care home now, suffering from Altzheimers/Dementia. I said I was not available on Friday. They said did I mind if someone went to see my mother. I said.....'You can, but she won't know what is going on, who you are, etc etc.' 'Oh that's alright' was the reply.... 'also, when can we come and see you'
'Why do you want to see me' ????  Answer....'So we can tell you, that as your mother's appointee, we will contact you if we have any queries'  WHAT :o :o :o :o :o

Incidently, as advised by the Care Home, we are claiming attendance allowance !!!

What the hell is going on.....a 92 year old woman in cloud cuckoo land is worth a visit, but imo, more serious situations involving someone with more serious needs for benfits are not worth a visit !!!!!
