Bought those e-fag things for me and Tigger at the beginning of February this year and neither of us have touched a cigarette since. So for us at least they have worked a treat and saved us a small fortune.

I've been smoking for about 14 years and given I just turned 30 is too long  :(

The issue is the majority of my day is spent on my mobile at work and I always smoke while on the phone out the front

I tried quitting but found the 2 are related to the point I was not answering my phone at work on the risk of smoking whilst on it

Guess I will try those electronic things when I get round to it  :y

I read this thread with interest, having tried to give up 18 months ago......lasted a fortnight, i was prescribed patches and used an e cig.....after 2 weeks i couldnt sleep.....so i gave up, bought a packet of ciggies and the same evening had the best nights sleep id had for a fortnight.

Nursie at the surgery had told me to keep the patches on at night (so i wouldnt be craving nicotine when i woke up) but she decided it was the nicotine that was keeping me awake.

Yesterday I dug out my old e cig and found i had 12 cartridges left for it, charged it and gave it a go for an hour......maybe the cartridges dont last or something.....as after an hour of puffing away on it.....i thought buggar this and lite a rollie up.

So ive decided to smoke the rest of the baccy i have....about 250g of it.....tell my Spanish friend not to bring anymore over for me...go see nursey and get some more free patches...and give it a go again  :y

Good luck with the rest of you trying to give up  :y :)

Might be worth trying a new e-cig TD as the atomisers don't last forever, think of them as a service part. I'd recommend an ego-c type. They use tanks of fluid that you refill yourself and there are loads of flavours to try.
I'm on blueberry at the moment and it's very nice.

How many do you smoke in a day Dave?
As you're on rollies you may want a stronger mix, try 30 or 36 mg/ml or 3%.
I was on about 30 filtered rollies a day and I find 1.8% to be about right for me. If you go too strong you'll feel it in the back of your throat. If you manage to ditch fags you can then start to drop the nicotine strength till you're using 0 nicotine. I suppose then it's a case of do you use the e-cig just for the flavours or ditch it altogether.
The tanks are really easy to use, liquid comes in a small plastic dropper bottle and you just squirt it into the tank then plug the tank into the e-cig. You get a few caps for the tanks so you can carry full ones with you in case you run out.

I tried everything until  without success then the electronic cigarette appeared on the market. I am now off them 3 year in July.
