Don't know about you guys and gals, but I've always liked a bit of salt in my food. Recently, this fad for a low-salt, or even no-salt, diet has been getting on my nerves. I used to use a great chicken seasoning (Schwarz), until they brought out a new low-salt version and it is, well, absolute rubbish. Still the scientists and quacks know what's best, don't they?
...or do they?
I stumbled across this bit of news which came out today:
"Contrary to long-held assumptions, high-salt diets may not increase the risk of death, according to investigators from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. They reached their conclusion after examining dietary intake among a nationally representative sample of adults in the U.S.
The Einstein researchers actually observed a significantly increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease (CVD) associated with lower sodium diets. They report their findings in the advance online edition of the Journal of General Internal Medicine. (Albert Einstein College of Medicine)"

Another fad hits the bin?
