Dyson Service

Anyone ever used the Dyson repair service?

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/arrangeservice.aspx
Quote
"Your Dyson vacuum cleaner should provide you with many years of excellent performance and satisfaction, however you may wish to treat your machine to a routine service if it is out of guarantee.

Our fixed charge vacuum cleaner service of £79.00 (inc VAT) is fully inclusive of spare parts and labour (excluding accessories and filters). If your vacuum cleaner is in guarantee and you require a repair rather than a service, please call 0800 954 0154 so that we can help.

When you book a service you can expect:

A full inspection of your machine by a Dyson Service Engineer.
All required parts replaced as per the service engineer's inspection (parts and labour guaranteed for 12 months or until service support ends for your machine, whichever is soonest).
A full electrical and safety test.
Leave the site as they found it and dispose of any parts replaced during the service.
Easy payment direct to the Dyson Service Engineer by debit/credit card, cash or cheque.

Any accessories and filters are chargeable and may be purchased online or from the Dyson Service Engineer."

Now, my ageing DC07 works, and works well, I service it and keep it cleaned out.
BUT it is showing its age, and wants a new canister lid, cable tidy, hose, and probably a few other minor bits.

I could buy and fit the parts myself, but would cost more.

Question is, would the service cover all these in with the price?

Not interested in replacing the machine, It suits my needs and requirements which many others on sale do not.
(Must be bagless, Must not suck all dirt through the tools at all times, only when required, Must have an automatic brushbar)

Love or Hate dyson is a separate debate.

Iirc the one off fee covers all, except the attachment tools. But its been a few years now.

They quite happily discuss it by phone.  :y

Dyson Service does what it says on the tin.  Just like the products, spot-on! (except maybe the Washing Machine)  ;D

flip side is £79 is a long way towards a whole new one.

Plus parts Jimbob, if you need a new lid and other bits, these will not be included in the service; ring and have a chat would be my suggestion....... :y

Parts and Labour ARE included.

Accessories are not.

It would be nice to see each defined.

A chat has to be a good starting point, as I can detail most of what wants replacing.

Even none service items? if that is the case then it is an excellent service back up, and should be used in selling / advertising in the first place; it would make me think next time I have to replace out vacuum cleaner.......... :y

Iiirc they don't guarantee to match coloured parts. Depends whats on the van.

But they are so multicoloured anyway, it won't look particularly out of place ime.

I've never used it, as the parts are fairly cheap (pattern).

However, if the motor fails again, I may be tempted, as the pattern motors seem to last about 2 years (mind you, the original Dyson one lasted about the same, which they fixed under warranty, this 2nd lasted years).
