Omega surprises
« on: 07 November 2006, 20:47:42 »

OK, what features or quirks have people noticed on the Omega that are not usual for other cars?  I am not talking, ahem, about problems or maintenance issues.  Just normal use stuff.  :)

For me the surprises were;

-Blinking fuel warning light when really low
-Cruise remembers speed after car turned off

Something I haven't figured out is a random ding from the sat-nav speaker when it is off?

Theolodian's has the older Carin Satnav. Bit dated now...  ...get a modern satnav instead.

Turns off internal sensors so wind won't set off alarm if you leave windows cracked.  Strange symbol for it though  :-?

Also lets you leave pets or pesky kids in the car when you lock it :)

its a small effect but did't notice it on my dads, when you unlock it at night using the remote, the lights inside the car gradually fade up. and down after you lock it.

Not the harsh off / on by some cars, by a nice "soft" change if you get what i mean.

Nice simple effect, which looks nice.

Mustn’t forget the annoying but thankfully short-lived feature on early facelifts (2000/2001) that requires the key to be removed from the ignition in order to open the boot.
