« on: 31 May 2013, 19:30:00 »

ok was lookin on here .and found somone say that at the back of the 2.2 engine was coverd in oil.and he got a reply sayin could be the sump breather blocked.when i bought my 2.2 the guy said he had a new rocker cover gasket put on.no proof but if there is a breather how easy is it to get to and is it easy enough to clean out.if anyone has done this or can help with pics much appreciated  :)

Put your hand behind the cam cover at the rear of the block, feel for any oil seeping from the gasket or the half moons at the back.

If a non genuine gasket was used, quite probable it's failed. They are often very poor fitting and too hard, it's a dead easy job to replace though  :y
