 Hello.

Firstly, my apologies if this is in the wrong forum, if so maybe those who know better could move it on?

Secondly - and most importantly - my miggy disappeared this morning, and I thought I would mention it here just in case it might be offered for sale, or maybe it might be spotted by some one. It is a 1999 2.5 automatic estate in gunmetal grey, not too bad to look at but the paint on rear bumber is poor and there is a distinctive bit of faded paint on the roof above the drivers door. The reg number is V848 FNJ and was stolen from Bury in Lancashire.

The police are as helpful as you expect and suggested that is was taken for scrap as the Omega is a big weighty car. All local breakers have been visisted but it has not turned up yet, but maybe in time.

I'll keep an eye out, Omegas tend to stand out these days, there's so few of them. How did they take it? Immobilisers are quite good on them

might end up with one of the banger drivers, try 'ovalchat', its a banger racing forum, I suggest registering and posting your car details on there. Banger drivers are very helpful, and lots work in breakers yards too.

Found it!

My miggy was apparantly involved in a Police chase, the driver dumping it and making his escape (keep your eyes on Police, Camera, Action lol).

Not too badly damaged due to the chase but could not see a thing because of all the fingerprint dust EVERYWHERE! One quick valet and a £150.00 release fee later, and I am back on the road.

Indeed, but unless you/the polis can identify the person who took it, you, the registered keeper are responsible for the car and any fines before it is reported stolen/after it is found.

At least it has been recovereded in a useable condition £150 is probably alot less than the insurance excess

I remember selling a xantia for £800 to some ..interesting characters... who gave an obviously moody address for the V5, police turned up at my door 2 days later to say it was used in a crime in Crewe and been abandoned but wouldn't elaborate as to what crime. Week later I got as letter from a storage yard asking me to pick it up for £120 storage fee. I had a spare key but thought it wasn't worth the hassle
