quite simple albeit the wrong way to do it,
blue truck was empty and he wanted to pass because the waitrose truck was fully loaded and would be slow,he probably didnt know this until he was behind it at the roundabout,
but he should have been in the correct lane first! :y

Which he would have been if it wasn't for the silver Audi, I suspect. ...?

Still, no harm done really. In the grand scheme of things that's a trivial event ime. But there we are. :)

This is just my opinion of what happened but I would say the blue trucker was totally in the wrong. The Audi imo did nowt wrong. he was in the middle lane all the time and went past the slower moving blue truck who was for all intent and purpose staying in the left hand lane.

the blue trucker then at the last minute indicates and cuts up the OP.

In that situation though in the OPs shoes i'd have still of course stayed heading down the middle lane but slowed right down and kept behind the blue truck for two reasons.... 1. knowing that trucks need a bit more room and 2. cos I hate being alongside those things at the best of times

just my opinion :)

Sounds a fair assessment to me.  :y As said, the Audi never held the blue truck up as the truck was in front of the Audi to start with. The blue truck clearly didn't want to get held up by the waitrose truck so he nipped across at the last minute. Can't see how the truck is not at fault.  :-\
Having said that, I never mix with trucks at roundabouts so I would have stayed behind the truck and let him go well clear before leaving the roundabout.  :y

Seen this happen way tooooooooooo many times but in the opposite way

Hubby is a truck driver, has been for 23 years, and is a damned good driver

I have been with him on numerous occassions where car drivers think its their god given right to pull out, or in, in the path of a truck, just because they feel they can, or feel they are faster and can get away with it, often  crossing 3 lanes just to get to an off ramp first, and because they couldn't be bothered getting into the right lane in time, and very often that will lead to a wagon having to either slam on, or veer out into another lane, but who ALWAYS gets the blame, the truck driver

Yes I  do agree there are bad truck drivers out there, but there are thousands, if not millions more bad car drivers

There are so many  more laws and regulations that truck drivers have to adhere to, yet people still want their things delivered on time etc, yet wont give a truck the right of way  at times

OK rant over

Bex, it doesn't matter how right or wrong you are on here.  If you post a video of someone else's bad driving the general opinion on here will be that it was your fault.

Been there, done that, got the many t-shirts :y

The HGV driver was a dick and in the worng, end of.

As per the video.

I've lost count the number of times HGVs have pulled out in front of me when towing, either from lane 1 to lane 2 on a motorway or on roundabouts ........ some cars can maintain their speed on a motorway with a trailer - many HGVs can't/don't

Rant over  ::)

guffer I appreiciate the sentiment mate, but i`m the first to admit that my driving could be better. I got my bike license first & always feel happier in the saddle to be honest. I did notice the gap on his near side & if on 2 wheels I`d have tailed this creep & nailed him @ the earliest possible opportunity.

To what end? Death? Being hit by a truck is bad enough in a car, but on a bike you're definitely toast :-\

Learn from it and move on :y
